DTC Off – fault code software solution for ECU and TCU

Suppression of selected diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) in ECU or TCU software, for example after a hardware change that the control unit keeps reporting.

Submit DTC RequestStandard service

Requests are submitted from a DR-files account. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to sign in or register first. The selected service is kept.

Service details

A fault code is only suppressed in the software; the cause of the fault is not repaired. Each code is therefore assessed together with the vehicle, the control unit, the software version and the available diagnostic information before any change is made.

Required information

  • Fault code as read by your diagnostic tool
  • Vehicle manufacturer, model and engine
  • ECU or TCU identification and software version
  • Diagnostic report and complete original file
  • Description of the vehicle behaviour

Typical workflow

  1. 01Choose the service and enter the vehicle and control unit details.
  2. 02Upload the original file.
  3. 03Fixed prices are charged from your credits when you submit; other prices are confirmed in the request and charged when you accept them.
  4. 04The file is prepared and delivered in your account.

Technical notes

  • A fault code usually points to a technical cause. Suppressing the code in the software does not remove that cause and is not a substitute for a repair.
  • Orders are checked before work starts. Codes of emission-related monitoring are not suppressed through this service; such requests are emission-related and reviewed individually.

Frequently asked questions

Can any fault code be suppressed in the software?

No. Each DTC request is assessed in its diagnostic context. A solution is only offered where it is technically appropriate for the vehicle and the application.

Which diagnostic information should I provide?

The exact fault code, freeze-frame data where available, relevant logs and the checks or repairs already carried out.
