Frequently asked questions
What is a tuning file and what exactly do you deliver?
A tuning file (also called a chiptuning file or remap) is modified engine (ECU) or transmission (TCU) control unit software that you write to the vehicle with your own tool, such as KESS3, Autotuner or Flex. You upload the original file read from the control unit, we prepare the modified file for the exact software version and hardware and deliver it to your request. Writing it to the vehicle is done by you.
Do you offer DPF Off, EGR Off or AdBlue Off?
Yes, but only for vehicles that are not operated on public roads (motorsport, off-road machines, export outside the EU). The request is submitted through the specialist application form with the VIN, declared use and country of use, you sign a declaration and every request is reviewed before acceptance. For a road vehicle the lawful route is a repair or a return to the original software.
How long does processing take?
On working days from 9:00 to 18:00 (CET/CEST) most routine jobs are completed within 1 hour of upload. Requests sent outside these hours are processed on the next working day. Recovery, custom applications and requests that need more information take longer; the current status is always shown in the request.
Do you use universal maps?
No. Every file is prepared for the exact software version and hardware configuration you submit and is checked before delivery. We are a team that has been modifying ECU maps for over 20 years and we stand behind the quality of every file.
Which file formats can I upload?
Any file your tool exports, with or without an extension; archives (zip, rar, 7z) are fine too. The size limit is shown in the upload field. If you have several files read from the unit, upload the best one as the request file and add the others in the request.
What information do you need with the file?
Vehicle manufacturer, model and engine, the control unit type and model, the tool and the read method. The hardware and software number help with matching; they are required only when no file is uploaded (original files, recovery).
How do I ask a technical question about a job?
Open the request in your account and write a message. The conversation, logs and files stay attached to that request.
What if the delivered file needs a correction?
Use Request Revision inside the completed job and describe the issue. Attach a datalog where possible. The request is reopened and the revision is prepared from the existing file history. A change of scope, for example other hardware or a different service, is a new request.
Are performance calibrations road legal?
Vehicle approval and road-use requirements vary by country and application. The customer is responsible for ensuring that any vehicle modification complies with applicable local regulations.
When am I charged?
Services are paid with prepaid credits. Fixed prices are charged when the request is submitted; other requests are priced after review and charged only once you accept the price.
Who can open an account?
Anyone who uses the service within their business activity, for example workshops, tuning companies and independent tuners. Registration needs a name, an e-mail address and a password; company details are optional and the billing address is asked for with the first order.
