Checksum correction for ECU and TCU files
Correction and validation of the checksums (checksum correction) in an ECU or TCU file and a consistency check of the file before it is written to the control unit.
Used for files modified with your own editor or for files that the tool refuses to write because of an incorrect checksum.
Requests are submitted from a DR-files account. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to sign in or register first. The selected service is kept.

We check the file structure, recalculate the checksums for the given control unit type and verify that the file matches the stated hardware and software. The calibration content is not changed.
Required information
- Vehicle manufacturer, model, year and engine code
- ECU manufacturer, hardware and software number (if known)
- The file whose checksum should be corrected and, if possible, the original file
- The tool and write method used, or the error message of the tool

Technical notes
- The price in credits is confirmed in the request after the file has been assessed. Nothing is charged before you accept it.
- If the file shows data corruption beyond the checksum, we suggest a software repair (Software Repair) or an original file.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the tool refuse to write the file?
Most often because the checksums do not match the modified content. After the checksums are recalculated for the given unit type, the tool accepts the file; if the file is corrupted, we let you know.
Do you change the calibration content when correcting the checksum?
No. Only the checksums and the file structure are corrected; the calibration data stays as you delivered it.
