Repair of corrupted ECU and TCU software
Repair of corrupted, inconsistent or incorrectly modified control unit software (software repair) based on the read you deliver and original data.
Typical cases: corrupted areas after an interrupted write, an incorrect modification by a third party, inconsistency between parts of the file or missing blocks.
Requests are submitted from a DR-files account. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to sign in or register first. The selected service is kept.
Service details
We compare the delivered read with the original data for the stated hardware and software, repair the corrupted areas and verify the checksums. If the control unit no longer communicates, use the ECU/TCU Recovery service instead.
Required information
- Vehicle manufacturer, model, year and engine code
- ECU manufacturer, hardware and software number (if known)
- Complete current read from the control unit (partial if a full read is not possible) and any earlier backups
- Description of the fault, the vehicle behaviour and the tool used

Technical notes
- The price in credits is confirmed in the request after the file has been assessed. Nothing is charged before you accept it.
- The repaired file is delivered to your account with a description of the changes made; writing it to the control unit is done by you.

What is the difference between a software repair and ECU recovery?
A software repair deals with a file that can be read from and written to the control unit. ECU/TCU recovery concerns control units that no longer communicate or do not start after a failed write.
Do you need the original file?
It helps, but it is not required. If you do not have it, we use the original data for the stated hardware and software number or suggest the Original Files service.
