Swirl Flaps Off – disabling the swirl flaps in the ECU software

Software deactivation of the swirl (intake) flap control (Swirl Flaps Off) in the engine control unit after the flaps have been mechanically removed or blanked.

The modification disables the flap actuator control and the related diagnostics and fault codes. The file is prepared for the exact software version.

Service details

Swirl flaps in the intake manifold are a common source of faults (clogging, loosening). The software modification is used after their removal; the removal itself and the intake modification are mechanical work for the workshop.

Required information

  • Vehicle manufacturer, model, year and engine code
  • ECU manufacturer, hardware and software number (if known)
  • Complete original file read from the control unit, the tool and the read method used
  • Whether the flaps were removed or blanked, and the fault codes the control unit reports

Typical workflow

  1. 01Choose the service and enter the vehicle and control unit details.
  2. 02Upload the original file.
  3. 03Fixed prices are charged from your credits when you submit; other prices are confirmed in the request and charged when you accept them.
  4. 04The file is prepared and delivered in your account.

Technical notes

  • The fixed price in credits is deducted when the request is submitted. The file is prepared for the exact software version and checked before delivery.
  • The modification does not replace the repair of other intake faults; related fault codes are assessed from the diagnostic data you provide.

Frequently asked questions

Do the flaps have to be physically removed before the modification?

The modification is intended for vehicles where the flaps were removed or blanked. If they remain fitted and working, we do not disable their control in the software.

What is needed for the request?
